The photographer's eye or how to get a picture where none are obvious...

This is a wonderful example of a photographer creating a picture out of a mundane scene. On the face of it, it's an unbalanced picture, with the light weighted heavilly to the left, but I feel that in this case it merely forces the point of focus to slow down and explore those wonderful shadows and textures in those trees, with their delightful sense of mystery and maybe a hint of menace. The subtle haze that hovers over the path even manages to bring in an element of the spiritual.

In this case I would be tempted to convert the image into monochrome, possibly a brown tint, thus focusing the eye even more on texture and light without the (in this case) distraction of colour.

But that's more personal taste than criticism, it's a fine picture that would look good on a waiting room wall...
